Limestone Quarry in Mardin

A limestone quarry is an industrial operation where natural limestone reserves are extracted through controlled blasting, excavation and haulage. The raw stone is then crushed and screened into aggregate, chippings and fill material in a downstream crushing plant.

Limestone is a backbone material for cement production, asphalt and ready-mix concrete, highway construction, lime production, steelmaking flux and the glass industry. Quarries are therefore critical infrastructure for national construction supply chains.

The geology of South-East Anatolia — and the Mardin Derik belt in particular — is rich in high-quality limestone formations. This was a key driver of ZAD Group's investment in the area.

Our Derik quarry combines abundant natural reserves with a short haulage distance to the crushing plant — letting us supply major regional infrastructure projects without interruption.

Our quarry holds a MAPEG (General Directorate of Mining & Petroleum Affairs) licence, has completed EIA (Environmental Impact Assessment) procedures, and is operated in full compliance with occupational health & safety regulations.

All blasting work is led by licensed specialists. Vibration, noise and dust emissions are continuously monitored and environmental thresholds rigorously respected. This discipline is part of what makes ZAD a long-term, reliable supplier in the region.

The strength of the ZAD model is the integration of quarry, crushing plant and shipping fleet. Raw limestone moves a short distance to the crusher, leaves the plant as graded aggregate, and reaches the customer site through our own dump-truck fleet.
