Sultanahmet Mosque Restoration
The comprehensive restoration project of Sultanahmet Mosque (Blue Mosque) involves work spread over several years, covering both the exterior facade and interior decorations of the structure.
Within the scope of the project, the minaret towers, courtyard columns, main dome and semi-domes, and the original Iznik tiles inside were restored. Traditional Ottoman construction techniques were followed during the works, and original materials were adhered to.
The project was carried out under the supervision of UNESCO and the General Directorate of Foundations, and full compliance with international standards was achieved.
